Born and raised in the heart of South Georgia, John was influenced by both the sounds of many of the country music legends, as well as that “old-time” rock `n` roll flavor…….traveled for 12 years with Sunshine Express Band through-out  Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana performing at nightclubs and show dates. In 1983, John decided to become a solo act and made great strides in his musical career. He won the Middle Georgia Talent Search for Best Original Music and Best Song in 1983. In 1984 John released his first album “ Georgia Lady ”. His songs were twice included in the Top Ten of Indie Bullet magazines songwriting contest, in 1987 his song  “ Operator, Get Me Dixie “was the winning song and in 1989, “ Georgia Lady “ took the honor. In addition his songs have received a number of Billboard Awards. The Atlanta Songwriters Association named him one of “ Georgia`s Top Ten “ acts of 1989, and again in 1990. These honors were celebrated by performances at  Atlanta`s Cotton Club. John was a featured performer at the 1990 Georgia Music Festival and also represented the Atlanta Songwriters Association in Nashville with performances at the ASCAP Writers Night at the legendary Douglas Corner Café …….. John has shared the stage with entertainers such as , Merle Haggard, John Anderson,  Ronnie McDowell, T. Graham Brown, Freddy Fender, Moe Bandy, Helen Cornelius………..
