“I started playing with a country trio in 1971 doing small shows and dances around the middle Georgia area. We formed a six piece country / rock band in 1972 called the “Sunshine Express Band“and started playing clubs through-out the State of Georgia. I started writing and performing original songs in mid 70`s and began doing demos for Mark Durden owner of Mark I Studio in Macon, Georgia. After awhile Mark was impressed with my songs so he introduced me to a good friend of his in Nashville, Tennessee by the name of Joe Gibson.

            This was the beginning of a long and wonderful friendship. I was fortunate enough to sign with NSD / Soundwaves which was the independent record label owned by Joe & Betty Gibson. We produced and recorded some good tunes, also had some great times for over 10 years.”
